FNAR™ Competition

Owner’s Manual Addendum

We are pleased that you have chosen an FNAR™ Competition rifle. The FNAR™ Competition shares the same

reliability, durability, accuracy and many of the operating features as the FNAR™ Standard. However, it

also has additional

special features not found on the standard rifle such as an adjustable laminated wood stock, front sight base/rail and

anodized blue receiver. This addendum will cover the operation of those features where they differ from the standard

FNAR™. Those common operations and features are covered in the FNAR™ Autoloading Rifle Owner’s Manual supplied

with your FNAR™ Competition.

WARNING

Before inspecting or making any adjustments on the FNAR™ Competition, fully read and understand completely

the Owner’s Manual as well as this Addendum. Place the “safety” in the on safe position, remove the magazine,

open the action and ensure the chamber is empty. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Failure to

follow these warnings may result in serious injury or death.

 One 20-round magazine (3108929260) or one 10-round magazine (3108929262)

 Three interchangeable recoil pads, pad #2 is installed

 Six stock adjustment shims, shim #2 is installed

 3mm hex wrench

2. Stock Adjustment

The FNAR™ Competition is equipped with a laminated wood buttstock that is adjustable for length of pull and cast.

Refer to page 22, Section 17.1 of the FNAR™ Owner’s Manual for length of pull adjustment. Refer to page 25,

Sections 17.3 and 17.4 of the FNAR™ Owner’s Manual for cast adjustment using the supplied shims.

The comb of the laminated wood stock is also adjustable for drop and cast.

.1 Adjusting Drop at Comb Adjusting the comb allows you to align your eye perfectly with the scope or sights you may install on the rifle. A properly adjusted comb will provide increased accuracy and shooter comfort. To adjust the drop at the comb: 1. Loosen the cheekpiece locking screws on the right side of the stock using the supplied 3mm hex wrench. The cheekpiece will now move freely up and down on the stock adjustment studs. It is not necessary to remove these screws. 2.

6. Place the cheekpiece back on the buttstock by aligning the stock adjustment studs with the inserts. The cheekpiece will now stop on the stop screws that you have backed out to the recorded height. Use the 3mm hex wrench to tighten down the cheekpiece locking screws on the right side of the stock. Do not over tighten. 2.2 Adjusting Cast On and Cast Off Just like adjusting the comb, adjusting the cast allows you to align your eye perfectly with the scope or sights you may install on the rifle.

. Place the cheekpiece back on the buttstock by aligning the stock adjustment studs with the inserts, as in step 6 above. 5. Ensure the rifle is completely unloaded, on “safe” and pointed in a safe direction. Then, with an installed sight or scope, shoulder the rifle to test the setting. Your eye should quickly and easily align with the sights or scope with little effort. Cast adjustments are a matter of trial and error. Adjust a little at a time until you have obtained the desired cast. 6.
