FN 15® Maryland Heavy Barrel Rifle Owner’s Manual Addendum

We are pleased that you have chosen an FN 15® MD Heavy Barrel Rifle. The FN 15® Rifle shares the same reliability, durability,

quality and many of the operating features as other FN 15® rifles and carbines. However, it has additional special features such as a

match-grade barrel heavy profile hard chrome plated and a, free-float forearm and a knurled muzzle end threaded cap. This

addendum will cover the operation of those specific features where they differ from the standard FN15™.

You shall find detailed

information on the common operations and the features of the FN 15® in the FN 15® Owner’s Manual supplied with

your FN 15®

MD Rifle.

WARNING

Before inspecting or making any adjustments on the FN 15® MD Rifle, fully read and understand completely the Owner’s Manual

as well as this Addendum. Place the “safety” in the on safe position, remove the magazine, open the action and ensure the

chamber is empty as explained in Section 15.1 of your Owner’s Manual. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

Failure to follow these warnings may result in serious injury or death.

• FN 15® Maryland Heavy Barrel Rifle

• Safety lock and two keys

• One 10-round Magpul® GenM3 PMAG™ magazine

• Magpul® MBUS Front and Rear, in over-pack not assembled

• Owner’s Manual with this Addendum

2. Special Features and Components of the FN 15® MD Rifle

The FN 15® Rifle is equipped with several special components chosen to provide an additional level of performance beyond

what is standard for the FN 15® Carbine and Rifle.

In most cases, these features require no additional instruction beyond those for the standard components.

1. A match-grade, heavy profile hammer forged, chrome-plated 20” barrel chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO for increased

accuracy, long life and ease of cleaning.

2. Barrel features a Stainless Steel NAROH pinned gas block.

3. Muzzle Knurled threaded cap

4. Samson Manufacturing Evolution™ 15” free-float forearm for increased accuracy, longer grip surface and increased area for

mounting iron and optical sights.

5. Magpul® GenM3 PMAG™ 10 rounds for longer life and increased durability.

3. Free Float Handguard The Samson manufacturing 15” Evolution™ rail assembly installed on the FN 15® MD Rifle is in place of the standard round handguards. The Evolution™ rail assembly extends over a low-profile gas block. It allows for mounting of additional grips, sights, laser devices and other accessories onto a rigid, free-float forearm. T-Slot markings on the top Mil-STD-1913 rail allow for recording of accessory locations for reference.

WARNING Do not mount any sight, laser, or other device, which interferes with normal operation of the rifle or extends beyond or in front of the muzzle. Ensure any sight or device attached to this rail is firmly mounted. CAUTION Use care when disassembling the upper and lower receivers as described in Section 18.1 of your Owner’s Manual with the Samson Evolution™ rail installed. Damage may occur to the rail and the lower receiver if done improperly. A pinch hazard may also be present. 5.
