Addendum 2014
4. Free Float Handguard
The Midwest Industries, Inc. SSM M-LOK ™ 15” free-float forearm/rail assembly is installed on the FN 15™ DMR in place of the standard round
handguards. The SSM M-LOK™ rail assembly extends over a low profile gas block. It allows for mounting of additional grips, sights, laser devices and
other accessories onto a rigid, free-float forearm. T-Slot markings on the top Mil-Std M-1913 rail allow for recording of accessory locations for
reference. A polymer 5-slot M-LOK™ rail is included with your FN 15™ DMR. Additional M-LOK™ mounting accessories and options are available
directly from Magpul® (www.magpul.com
). Please refer to the individual instructions of your accessory for correct mounting.

WARNING
Before installing any sights, lasers or other devices on the rifle, place the “safety” in the on safe position, remove the magazine, open the
action and ensure the chamber is empty as explained in Section 15.1 of your Owner’s Manual. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe
direction. Failure to follow these warnings may result in serious injury or death.
4.1 M-LOK™ Rail Installation
The M-LOK™ accessory rail can be attached to the forearm assembly in multiple locations on the left, right and bottom sides. To install an
M-LOK™ rail to the forearm, first ensure the rifle is completely unloaded, completely clear and the safety lever is placed in the “on safe”
position as described in Section 15.1 of your Owner’s Manual.
4.1.1 If not already done, install the two locking pieces into the rail with the two 1/8” hex screws. Do not tighten them but ensure
they are in line with the rail.
4.1.2 Insert the rail into the desired square slot in the forearm. Align the center lug and one of the locking pieces into one slot and
the other locking piece into the next adjacent slot.
4.1.3 Using the supplied 1/8” hex wrench, tighten the two screws. As you tighten the screws, each of the locking pieces will rotate
90⁰ inside the forearm and lock into place. Continue to snug the screws ensuring the locking pieces have turned 90⁰. Do not
over tighten, torque to 15 in/lbs.
