Forconventionalframing,wheretheoorjoistsareparallel
withthesidesoftherebox,theadditionofoorjoiststoalign
with the anchor brackets allows the brackets to be directly
connectedtotheoorjoists.
Notethat additionaloor joistsmay berequiredto support
theweightofthereboxandchimney.Wheretheoorjoistsrun
paralleltothefrontoftherebox,anchoragecanbeaccomplished
inlikemannerasshowninFigure5usingblockingbetweenthe
oorjoist.
ForoorssupportedbyI-Joists,themethodofanchorageis
illustratedinFigures6and7.Figure10illustratesthegeneral
arrangementofanchoragetooorframing.
Itisimportanttotakeintoconsiderationthattheloadforthe
Grand Meridian Fireplace must be considered as additional
deadloadthatwillhavetobesupportedbytheoorframing.
AdditionaloorjoistsorI-joistsmayberequiredasdetermined
bythelicenseddesignprofessional.
ThedeadweightsforthereplacearenotedinTableI.Itis
thetaskandresponsibilityofthegeneralcontractor/installerto
seethattheproperreinforcementforweightloadsaremadeby
alicenseddesignprofessionalpriortothereplaceinstallation.
As statedabove, it isdesirable to place additionalframing
foralignmentofanchorrods.RefertoFigure10foranchorrod
locations.
