4 CABLES MAINS PLUG REPLACEMENT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT • Use only a minimum 1.00mm2 size cable up to 60 metres length maximum for the Power Hoe. • If the plug supplied is cut off it should be destroyed. There is an electric shock hazard if a cut off plug is inserted into a 13 amp socket. 1. Flymo products are supplied with either an electric mains cable fitted with a female connector or with an electric mains cable wired directly into the product. 1. No earth required.

6 Starting & Stopping To start the Power Hoe J 1 2 1. Form a loop in the mains cable and push the loop through the slot as illustrated in Fig J1. 2. To secure, position loop over the hook (J2) and pull the cable back through the slot (J3). 3. Connect plug to mains and switch on. 3 4. For slower speeds see note, move rocker switch forward with thumb and squeeze switch lever on handle (See Fig. K). Keeping the switch lever squeezed, the thumb can be removed from the rocker switch. 5.
7 How to Use P How to use the Power Hoe • Grip the Power Hoe firmly, with two hands, when operating. 1. Choose the speed required (See Starting & Stopping), break up the soil by using a stabbing movement as illustrated in Fig. P. Q 2. Move the machine from side to to side to evenly hoe the soil. (Fig Q) 3. To remove weeds, place the machine in the soil at an angle next to the weed (See Fig R). 4. When using the Power Hoe close to plants, it is recommended to use the slower variable speed. 8 Caring for the Power Hoe T V • Avoid accidental starting. When clearing debris from tine area, remove plug from mains and keep feet away from switch lever. (See Figs T & V) Cleaning (W) • USE GLOVES 1. Wipe over the surface of the Power Hoe with a dry cloth. 2. Using a soft brush remove debris from all air intakes and tine area. • IMPORTANT Never use water for cleaning the Power Hoe.
