Troubleshooting
The Test Tool Shuts Down After a Short Time
The batteries may be empty. Check the battery
symbol at the top right of the screen. A symbol
indicates that the batteries are empty and must be
charged. Connect the BC190 power adapter.
The test tool is still on but the ‘display auto off’ timer is
active, see Chapter 6 ‘Setting the Display AUTO-off
Timer’. To turn the display on press any key (restarts
the ‘display AUTO-off’ timer), or connect the BC190
power adapter.
The power down timer is active, see Chapter 6
‘Setting the Power Down timer’.
Press to turn the test tool on.
The Screen Remains Black
Make sure that the test tool is on (press )
You might have a problem with the screen contrast.
Press
USER
, then press
F4
. Now you can use
the
arrow keys to adjust the contrast.
The display ‘auto off’ timer is active, see Chapter 6
‘Setting the Display AUTO-off Timer’. To turn the
display on press any key (restarts the ‘display AUTO -
off’ timer), or connect the BC190 power adapter.
The Test Tool Cannot Be Turned Off
If the test tool cannot be turned off due to a software
hangup, do the following:
Keep the ON/OFF key pressed for at least 5 seconds.
FlukeView Does Not Recognize The Test Tool
Make sure that the test tool is turned on.
Make sure that the interface cable is properly
connected between the test tool and the PC. Use only
the test tool mini USB port for communication with a
computer!
Make sure that the USB driver has been correctly
installed, see Appendix A.
Battery Operated Fluke Accessories Do Not
Function
When using battery operated Fluke accessories,
always first check the battery condition of the
accessory with a Fluke multimeter.
