CalibratingLengthMeasurements
ThetesterusesanNVPvalue(nominalvelocityof
propagation)andthesignaldelaythroughthecableto
calculatelength.Thetester’sdefaultNVPvaluesare
usuallyaccurateenoughtoverifylength;however,you
canincreasetheaccuracyoflengthmeasurementsby
adjustingtheNVPtoaspecifiedoractualvalue.
ThedefaultNVPvaluesare70%fortwistedpaircable
and82%forcoaxialcable.
Note
NVPvaluescanvaryamongcabletypes,lots,
andmanufacturers.Inmostcases,these
differencesareminorandmaybedisregarded.
