RemoteIDLocators
Terminatingthecablingundertestwiththestandard
wiremapadapteroroptionalremoteIDlocatorsprovides
thefollowingadvantages:
• Fullwiremaptestingontwistedpaircabling
WithoutanadapterorIDlocator,thecablingcannot
bequalifiedbecausethetestercannotdetectall
wiremapfaults.Autotestresultsareprovidedfor
informationalpurposesonly.
• Easieridentificationoftwistedpairandcoaxial
connections
Theadapter’snumberappearsonthewiremap
display.InDiscovermodeyoucanusemultiple
remoteIDlocators,eachwithadifferentnumber,to
identifyconnectionsatpatchpanels.
ThewiremapadapterandremoteIDlocatorsare
functionallyidentical,exceptfortheirIDnumbers.The
wiremapadapterhasanIDnumberof1.TheremoteID
locatorsareavailablewithotherIDnumbers.
ToconnecttheremoteIDlocatortoamodular(RJ)outlet
