5.1. Fluidmesh Hardware Installation
5.1.1. Installing the Cisco FM4200 Mobi
Environmental rating and unit roles
The Cisco FM4200 Mobi (part number FM4200M-HW) is a wireless radio
transceiver unit.
The hardware is contained in an outdoor-rated metal enclosure that can
be easily mounted on poles or walls.
The Cisco FM4200 Mobi can operate in any of the following networking
roles:
• As a point-to-point wireless bridge (see “Point-to-point wireless
bridge” (page 17) for details).
• As a single radio unit within a wireless mesh network (see “Mesh
network architecture” (page 18) for details).
• As a principal radio unit or Subordinate radio unit within a point-to-
multipoint wireless network (see 'Using the FluidMAX Management
Setting' in “Advanced radio settings” (page 91) for details).
Installation hardware
Metal clamps are supplied as part of the installation package, to allow
mounting of the unit on utility poles. Refer to the Cisco FM4200 Mobi
installation instructions for details.
5.1.2. Cisco FM4200 Mobi Status and link LEDs
Unit and link quality status
The front panel of the Cisco FM4200 Mobi (as seen below) contains
