HOW DOES IT KEEP THE TANK FROM LEAKING?
The locking device does not disable the toilet. If a leak is detected, the lock
prevents the float from falling, thus keeping the fill valve from turning on.
But, unlike competitive valves with a locking feature, the Leak Sentry fill
valve works automatically – the user doesn't have to remove the tank lid to
engage and disengage the device. In the event of a leak, the Leak Sentry
fill valve prevents the refilling of the tank. The next time the user attempts
to flush the tank, they will find the tank empty, but the action of pushing
the tank lever releases the lock, allowing the valve to turn on and refill
the tank. When the tank is full, the user can flush normally. So, even
though the Leak Sentry fill valve does not disable the toilet, this automatic
lock-and-release action will continue until the user replaces the leaky flapper.
WILL IT WORK IN ALL TOILETS?
Yes. The height of the Leak Sentry fill valve is adjustable, allowing it to fit
into virtually all brands of toilets. This, along with its float adjustment screw,
allows the installer to set the proper water level in the tank. The refill
adjustability allows the users to match the factory OEM performance
specifications of the original fill valve.
