17.5 Recommended safety distances between portable and mobile
HF telecommunications devices and the PG130/PG145
The PG130/PG145 is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment where
HF interferences are controlled. The user/operator of the PG130/PG145 can con-
tribute to lowering electromagnetic emissions by complying with the minimum
distance between portable and mobile HF telecommunications devices (trans-
mitters) and the PG130/PG145 - depending on the output power of the commu-
nication device listed below.
The safety distance d in meters [m] for transmitters with a max. rated output not
listed in the table above can be calculated by applying the corresponding formula
in the respective column. P is the max. rated output of the transmitter in watts
[W] according to the information provided by the manufacturer of the transmit-
ter.
Note 1: The higher frequency range applies to 80 and 800 MHz.
Note 2: These guidelines are probably not realizable in all cases. The distribution
and spread of electromagnetic quantities differs depending on the absorption
and reflection of buildings, objects, and people.
