This manual includes information on the PodView® series level indicator fromFLOWLINE, LI40 series. Please
refertothe partnumberlocatedontheswitchlabeltoverifytheexactmodelconfiguration,whichyouhave
purchased.
User’sResponsibilityforSafety:FLOWLINEmanufacturesabroadrangeoflevelsensingtechnologies.While
each of these sensors is designed to operate in a wide variety of applications, it is the user’s responsibility to
select a sensor model that is appropriate for the application, install it properly, perform tests of the installed
system,andmaintainallcomponents.Thefailuretodo socouldresultinpropertydamageorseriousinjury.
ProperInstallationandHandling:Onlyprofessionalstaffshould installand/orrepairthisproduct.Install
the level indicator with the included locking nut and neverover tighten the indicator within the installation.
Alwayscheckforleakspriortosystemstart‐up.
Wiring and Electrical: Asupply voltage of 12 to 28 VDC is used to power the PodView® and the EchoPod®
sensor.Electric alwiringofthetransmittershouldbeperformedinaccordancewithallapplicablenational,state,
andlocalco des.
Material Compatibility:The enclosure is made of Polycarbonate (PC) with the Cable made of
Polyurethaneandthe Buttonsmadeofsiliconrubber.Makesurethatthemodel,whichyouhaveselected,is
chemicallycompatible withthe applicationmedia.
Enclosure: While the level indicator housing is liquid‐resistant the PodView® is not designed to be
operationalwhenimmersed.Itshouldbemountedinsuchawaythattheenclosureandlevelindicatordonot
comeintocontactwiththeapplicationmediaundernormaloperationalconditions.
Make a Fail‐Safe System:Design a fail‐safe system that accommodates the possibility of
EchoPod®/PodView®and/orpowerfailure.FLOWLINErecommendstheuseofredundantbackupsystemsand
alarmsinadditiontotheprimarysystem.
Flammable, Explosive or Hazardous Applications:PodView® should not be used within classified
hazardousenvironments.
