Maintenanceshouldconsistofinspectiontosee thatthetransmitterisfreefromdebrisandnotcoatedwith
anysubstance,whichwouldpreventliquid fromfreely enteringandleavingthetransmitter.Ifthisoccurs,the
transmittershouldbecleaned.
Cleaningprocedure:
1. Power:Make sure that all power to the transmitter, controller and/or power supply is completely
disconnected.
2. Transmitterremoval:If necessary,make sure that the tank is drained well below theswitch prior to
removal.Carefully,removethetransmitterfromtheinstallation.
3. Cleaningthe switch:Usinga soft bristle brush andmild detergent, carefully wash the switch.Do not
use harsh abrasives such as steel wool or sandpaper, whichmight damage the surface of the sensor.
Donotuseincompatiblesolvents,whichmaydamagethesensor'sstainlesssteelbody.Takeparticular
caretoremoveanyscalingfromthebodyandthatthereisnodebrisinsidetheinlet.
Transmitterinstallation:Followtheappropriatestepsof installationasoutlined intheInstallationsection of
thismanual.
Testingthetransmitter:
First,verifythatthesensoriswiredcorrectly.
Next,checkifthepowersupplyisprovidingtherequiredpower.
Finallyconfirmthattheloopresistanceisnotexceedingthesensor’sspecification.
If transmitter is not functioning properly, isolate the transmitter from the systemand wire as shown below.
Besuretoremovethesensorfromtheclassifiedareawhenperformingthistest.Multimetershouldread4
mAwiththetransmitteroutofliquid.
