receiverthenyouwillalsorequireaGNSS(GPS)passive
antennatobeconnected.Theantennaconnectionscan
beprotectedsothattheycannotcomeintocontactwith
anygroundedbaremetal.Thisisespeciallyimportant
wheninstallingtheradioonmetalstructure.
Pre-requisites:
•Ensureyouhaveinstalledyourantennasin
accordancewiththeinstructionssuppliedwiththe
antennas.
•Ensurethecableshavebeenproperlyroutedto
theBasestationandthatsufficientcablelengthis
availabletomaketheconnections.
Note:
•Followsteps2and3toinstalltheantennaswith
noprotection.
•WhenmountingtheBasestationonmetal
structure
,inordertopreventgalvaniccorrosion,
ensureALLstepsarefollowedsothattheantennas
areisolatedfromthevessel’smetalwork.
1.Feedthesuppliedheatshrinktubesoverthe
connectorendsofyourantennas.
2.Plugtheantennaconnectorsintotherelevant
antennaconnectionsontheBasestation.
3.Securebytighteningthelockingcollars.
4.Pulltheheatshrinktubesdownovertheantenna
connector
,ensuringtheconnectorsarefullycovered.
5.Applyheatevenlyovertheheatshrinktubesuntil
theyareshrunkuniformlyandresembletheshape
oftheconnectors.
