HOW TO SEAL
ELECTRICAL OUTLETS
IMPORTANT: Turn o the power to any outlet being sealed before application.
STEP #1 – APPLY FLOOD PROTECTION TAPE
1. Make sure the areas being sealed are clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dirt, and debris.

2. If the outlet has a cover, close it tight. No Flood Tape is required. Skip to STEP #2 below.
3. For uncovered outlets, cut a piece of Flood Tape to t the outlet face. Remove Flood Tape backing,
and using rm pressure, apply it directly to the face of the outlet. Make sure all electrical openings
are completely covered.

STEP #2 – APPLY FLOOD PROTECTION PASTE IN A CARTRIDGE
1. Cut the nib o the Flood Paste (cartridge), screw on nozzle, and cut the nozzle to the desired
bead thickness.
2. Apply Flood Paste to where the outlet meets the wall.

3. Use a gloved nger or Flex Gap Filler tool to push the Flood Paste into the seam and smooth it out.

4. Apply Flood Paste (cartridge) on top of the entire outlet, including the cover or outlet face that has
been sealed with Flood Tape.

5. Use a gloved nger or tool to spread and smooth out the Flood Paste until the entire outlet
is encapsulated.

6. Let dry to the touch (2-6 hours*).
7. Inspect for gaps or openings. Apply additional coats as needed to help ensure the area has been
sealed tight and let dry to touch.
STEP #3 – APPLY FLOOD PROTECTION LIQUID
1. Brush a generous amount of Flood Liquid on top of the Flood Paste. The coat of Liquid should be
wider and overlap the previous layer(s) of Flood Paste.

2. Allow 24 to 48 hours* to fully cure before oodwaters arrive.

*Dry times may vary based on temperature, humidity, and thickness of applied layers.

Flood Protection (uncovered outlets)
Flood Paste in a Cartridge is the base coat for your rst layer of protection. Use a gloved nger, Flex
Gap Filler tool, or similar tool to push into all seams and openings to help create a watertight seal.
Always be cautious of any sharp object that may cause injury.
