Powering D own the Cabinet

Cha pter 8. Power ing Down the Ca binet

The base station is powere d down using a PC or terminal connected to the C OM 1 port on the

Master C ontrol Unit (MCU) board. This helps ensure that all system files a re closed before the

power is shut off. Attach the PC or terminal using a serial cable with a null-m odem adapter. T he

PC should be running a te rminal emulation such as Microsoft

Windows

HyperTerm inal.

Connect the 9–pin fem ale RS-232 connec tor (DB9F) to the COM1 port located on the MC U.

Connect the 9–pin femal e cable connec tor (DB 9F) on the other end of the cable to the connec tor

of the VT- 100 term inal or to the PC serial port. Either COM 1 or COM2 of the PC m ay be used.

The following settings should be use d for Hyper Term inal sessions:

• Bits pe r second: 9600

• Data bits: 8

• Parity: None

• Stop bits: 1

• Flow control: None
