SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Never give anything
by mouth to an unconscious person.
Remove to fresh air, keep patient warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped, give
artificial respiration. If unconscious, place in the recovery position and obtain immediate
medical attention. Give nothing by mouth.
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use a recognize
skin cleanser.
Irrigate copiously with clean water for at least 15 minutes, holding the eyelids apart and seek
medical attention.
If accidentally swallowed, obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do NOT induce
vomiting.
OVERVIEW
Eye: Not expected to cause prolonged or significant eye irritation.
Skin: Contact with the skin causes irritation. Symptoms may include pain, itching, discoloration, swelling, and blistering.
Contact with the skin is not expected to cause an allergic skin response. Not expected to be harmful to internal organs if
absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion: Keep respiratory tract clear. DO NOT induce vomiting. Take victim immediately to a hospital
Inhalation: Take victim to fresh air. Seek medical advice. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Exposure to solvent vapor concentrations from the component solvents in excess of the stated occupational exposure
limits may result in adverse health effects such as mucous membrane and respiratory system irritation and adverse
effects on the kidneys, liver and central nervous system. Symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, muscular
weakness, drowsiness and in extreme cases, loss of consciousness.
SECTION 5: FIREFIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical and water fog.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Hazardous decomposition: High temperatures and fires
may produce such toxic substances as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Advice for firefighters: Fire fighting instructions: This material will butn although it is not easily ignited. For fires
involving this material, do not enter any enclosed or confined fire space without proper protective equipment, including
self-contained breathing apparatus.
Combustion products: Highly dependent on combustion conditions. A complex mixture of airborne solids, liquids, and
gases including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and unidentified organic compounds will be evolved when this
material undergoes combustion.
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURE
Personal Precautions: Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental Precautions: Do not allow spills to enter drains or waterways. Use good personal hygiene practices.
Wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking or using toiler. Promptly remove soiled
clothing and wash thoroughly before re-use.
Methods for Cleaning Up
Protective Measures: Eliminate all sources of ignition in vicinity of spilled material.
Spill Management: Stop the source of the release if you can do it without risk. Contain release to prevent further
contamination of soil, surface water or groundwater. Clean up spill as soon as possible, observing precautions in
Exposure Controls/Personal Protection. Use appropriate techniques such as applying non-combustible absorbent
materials or pumping. Where feasible and appropriate, remove contaminated soil. Place contaminated materials in
disposable containers and dispose of in a manner consistent with applicable regulations.
Reporting: Report spills to local authorities and/or the U.S. Coast Guard's National Response Center at (800) 424-8802
as appropriate or required.
