7 CUSTOM DOOR PANEL DIMENSIONS The drawings below apply to non-Water dispensing models only (RS36A80J). Dimensions are shown in Imperial (inches) and apply for the preparation and installation of custom door panels. For Dwg and Dxf files of the below panel preparation download the folder on http://thekitchentools.fisherpaykel.com 15 7/16 2 5/32 Ø 3/32 REF 12x Pilot holes recommended for bracket attachment. (Do not penetrate front surface).
8 80” (2032 mm) CAVITY – ATTACH ANTI-TIP BRACKET IMPORTANT! Safety requires refrigerators be stable when doors and/or drawer, are open. The anti-tip bracket and fittings supplied must be fitted to the wall of the finished enclosure to withstand a 220.5 pound (100 kg) load. This will prevent the possibility of the appliance tipping forward, when doors and/or drawer, are open. WARNING! Failure to follow instructions can lead to serious injury or death.
8 84” (2134 mm) CAVITY – ATTACH ANTI-TIP BRACKET IMPORTANT! Safety requires refrigerators be stable when doors and/or drawer, are open. The anti-tip bracket and fittings supplied must be fitted to the wall of the finished enclosure to withstand a 220.5 pound (100 kg) load. This will prevent the possibility of the appliance tipping forward, when doors and/or drawer, are open. WARNING! Failure to follow instructions can lead to serious injury or death.
8 84” (2134 mm) CAVITY – ATTACH TOP TRIM IMPORTANT! Take care when working with the appliance outside of the finished enclosure, as the appliance is not secured and has the possibility of tipping forward. 1 Ensure all external packaging material is removed from the appliance before installation. ~ 13 ”( 33 0 mm ) ~ 13 ”( 33 0 mm ) A 2 4 On the right side of the top trim, insert M5 nuts x2 onto the top and bottom slide. Slide nuts towards the center of the trim, 13” (330 mm).
9 ATTACH SIDE BASE BRACKETS AND INSTALLATION AIDERS IMPORTANT! ●● ●● 3 Take care when working with the appliance outside of the finished enclosure, as the appliance is not secured and has the possibility of tipping forward. Installation aiders can only be used when door panels and surrounding cabinetry panels are the same thickness. 1 Ensure all external packaging material is removed from the appliance before installation.
!0 CONNECT TO WATER AND ELECTRICAL SUPPLY IMPORTANT! ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● 1 The water connection instructions below are intended only for the professional installer. DO NOT use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. WARNING – connect to potable drinkable water supply only. DO NOT install on line pressure above 120 psi (827 kPa) or below 22 psi (150 kPa). DO NOT use on hot water supply (100°F [38°C max.]). AVOID contamination of pipes during installation.
!0 5 CONNECT TO WATER AND ELECTRICAL SUPPLY Thread the free end of the water hose into the dedicated hole located in the base of the appliance, through to the back of the appliance (refer to C). 7 At the back of your appliance, connect the appliance to the electrical supply (115 VAC, 60 Hz) with the fitted plug and lead, and turn on. Ensure the appliance is connected to its own isolating switch (refer to E). 2 3/8” min.
!1 PRE-ALIGNING YOUR PRODUCT IMPORTANT! ●● ●● ●● 1 It is important that all four corners of the appliance is supported firmly onto the floor to eliminate any movement. Installing the appliance on a soft, uneven, or not level floor may result in twisting of the product and poor door sealing. Raise the appliance using an 7/16” (11 mm) hex socket or 3/16” (4 mm) hex Allen key. One turn of height adjusting nuts is equivalent to 1/16” (1 mm) height travel. Note: maximum travel is 13/16” (20 mm).
!2 1 TEMPORARILY FIXING YOUR PRODUCT AND ATTACHING DOOR STUDS Carefully open the refrigerator French doors to remove the installation aider attached. Untighten the screws x2 (M5 x 8 countersunk Phillips screws). 3 Repeat this process for the remaining aiders. Secure M8 studs into the refrigerator doors, ensure the open end faces the top and the studs go all the way in. Repeat this process for all refrigerator doors.
!3 INSTALL WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE AND KICKSTRIPS IMPORTANT! ●● ●● 1 The water filter head must be firmly pushed into the product and secured, incorrect installation can lead to water leaks. It is not necessary to shut off the water supply when installing the water filter.
!4 ASSEMBLE DOOR PANEL SET The assembly of Fisher & Paykel kits (EZKleen stainless steel door panels) and custom door panels are outlined below. For Fisher & Paykel kits, only remove the protective film for handle installation. This will protect the finish of the door panels until installation is complete. French door panels 1 Drawer door panel Mounting handle (Refer to A) For Fisher & Paykel door panel sets, remove the plastic plugs from the handle holes x4.
!5 1 HANGING ICE & WATER DOOR PANEL 5 Remove the external display module from inside the product. Thread the display harness through the door panel cavity. Ensure the grommet is engaged. 2 Connect display harness onto the refrigerator door by inserting firmly until you feel it clip securely (refer to B). B On the external display, enable the dispenser lock, this will help prevent any water from dispensing during water connection. To lock, press the button for 4 seconds.
!6 HANGING NON-WATER DISPENSING DOOR PANELS 3 1 ●● ●● Hang all door panels onto M8 studs and align the side bracket forks onto the refrigerator door. Ensure the forks are positioned around the body of the side screws (M5 x 10 pan head Phillips screw). Ensure the gap between the top of the door panel and the top cabinetry is no greater than 7 mm. To reduce this gap, raise the product by turning all four adjustment nuts the same number of turns.
!7 ICE AND WATER INITIATION Ensure the appliance is switched on and the isolation faucet has been connected and turned on. Water dispenser initiation (Ice & Water models only) Ice maker initiation ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● To initiate ice maker before use: When the appliance is first turned on after installation, the ice maker will be off. To activate the automatic ice maker, press the ‘Ice On/Off’ button once. The LED light above the button will illuminate indicating the ice maker is on.
!8 A 1 2 ATTACH FIXING BRACKETS B Carefully open the refrigerator French doors to attach fixing brackets. On the LH side, place a fixing bracket over the side of the appliance and secure mid-way with screws x2 (M5 x 8 countersunk Phillips screws) (refer to A). 4 Slide screw cover in between the fixing bracket and the side bracket on the appliance x1. Repeat this process for the remaining screw covers.
!9 1 ATTACH COVERS AND TOE KICK Note: To complete the integrated appliance, the customer should supply their own toe kick for installation. The hardware required to mount the toe kick is supplied. Remove any remaining protective film on your door panels. A B 2 Open the refrigerator French doors, firmly push top cover over the top studs. 4 Repeat this process for the freezer drawer. Installing toe kick Unscrew the toe kick bracket screws mid-way, and bring forward (refer to A and B).
@0 ATTACH BOTTOM KICKSTRIP For toe kick installation higher than 4” (102 mm) For toe kick installation at 4” (102 mm) 1 Measure the required height for the bottom grille. On a board, carefully score/cut the un-required vanes from the bottom of the kickstrip grille and discard (refer to A). 2 Drill Ø 5/32” (4 mm) holes into the dimples of the grille (refer to B). Repeat this process for all dimples.
@1 ATTACH SIDE TRIM BRACKETS IMPORTANT! Before installing your appliance, ensure the dimensions of the finished enclosure are correct for your appliance following the ‘Product and cavity dimensions’ sections. Frameless cabinetry installation (opened cabinetry doors) 1 Break off the datum lip to each side trim bracket and discard. Discard Repeat for all side trim brackets. 2” (50 mm) ) Repeat on the opposite side.
@2 ATTACH SIDE TRIMS For 80” (2032 mm) cavity installation only Measure 4” (102 mm) from the top, shorter side trim and carefully cut using a fine tooth hacksaw to a length of 76“ (1930 mm). Refer to A for orientation of side trim. Note: ensure cut is straight and square as this is an exposed surface. Also ensure the plastic part does not bend as this can cause visual stress marks. A Aluminum Plastic Repeat this process for the remaining side trim.
@3 ADJUSTING HINGE TENSIONING SCREWS Hinge tensioning screws can be tightened if increased door closing force is required. 1 To ensure the French doors shut on their own, when pushed within the self close activation range, the hinge tensioning screws need to be tightened. The hinge tensioning screw is located in the French door hinges. To tighten the screw, rotate the screw to the right (refer to A). Repeat this process on the opposite side.
@4 FINAL CHECKLIST TO BE COMPLETED BY THE INSTALLER All models Check all parts are installed. Ensure the appliance is level. Ensure the appliance is securely fastened to the cabinetry with the supplied anti-tip bracket and fittings. Ensure the doors/drawer can open and close freely with no resistance from surrounding cabinetry. Ensure hinge limiting pin is fitted for 90° door swing. Ensure all internal and external packaging is removed from the appliance before use.
