Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards
Class 3 Flammability. Vapor can travel a considerable distance to a source of
ignition and flashback. Flashback can occur if air temperature exceeds flash
point. Be aware the possibility of re-ignition.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures
Handle as Flammable Liquid. Use Respiratory Protection. Wear full protective
clothing for Fire Fighting Personnel.
SECTION 6. Accidental release measures
Flush spills with water.
Contain and absorb using soil, sand, or other inert material.
Vapor can accummulate in low areas. Consider the need for evacuation.
Prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.
SECTION 7. Handling and storage
Eliminate all sources of ignition. Store away from heat.
Store in well ventilated area.
Handle as flammable liquid. Follow local, state and federal regulations.
Avoid inhaling vapor. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
Wear eye protection if splashing is expected.
Wear appropriate protective clothing.
Use respirator if exposure level is high when handling bulk liquid.
Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
