CAUTION

Increase the ﬂame setting by opening the torch control valves

or slightly increasing the operating pressure. NEVER reduce

the ﬂame setting. This causes the tip or nozzle to overheat

and backﬁre. ALWAYS use a smaller size tip or nozzle if less

heat is required.

When welding or heating operations are complete, follow the

Shutdown procedures in Section 4.04

WARNING

If you experience a backﬁre or sustained backﬁre (a hissing

sound caused by the ﬂame burning inside the mixer area),

IMMEDIATELY turn off the oxygen control valve. THEN turn off the

fuel valve. Follow the Shut Down procedures in Section 4.04.

Allow the torch to cool before use. If trouble persists, DO NOT

continue using the torch. Call a qualiﬁed repair technician.
