Kittrich Fire Command Aerosol Fire Suppressant Spray Q & A v0 Page 2
How does it work ?
Much like any other aerosol can that you may be familiar with.
It has a „trigger‟ type actuator that can be easily gripped and held. One merely
pulls a tab off from the top of the can and it is ready to be used !
It is only 10 inches tall and weighs only 1 pound which makes it great and easy to
handle for practically all age & gender groups.
What makes Fire Command different from other fire extinguishers ?
Unlike many other fire fighting products, Fire Command‟s contents are
biodegradable and can be breathed, touched and even swallowed without
causing major harm to anyone or practically any surface it comes into contact
with.
Is Fire Command a Fire Extinguisher and what about California ?
Although it acts and performs like one, it is technically classified as a Fire
Suppressant Spray as Extinguishers are required by NFPA (National Fire
Protection Association) to have a visible gauge on the canister. The state of
California uses this determination for all portable fire equipment and thus the
product cannot be sold there, however we are working to address that situation.
What makes it so good to perform like an Extinguisher ?
Fire Command uses a UL162 (Underwriter Laboratory) certified Foaming Agent
that works to attack all three sides of the “Fire Tetrahedron” (Oxygen – Heat –
Fuel) as well as the chain reaction (free roaming ions) that allows a fire to burn.
Fires extinguished by Fire Command remain put out !
Fire Command quickly (within seconds!) cools the surface it is being sprayed on!
Can I replace my traditional Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher with Fire Command ?
Fire Command is all about added extra personal protection and as such you
should continue to keep your Dry Extinguishers in place where required by law.
We DO recommend however keeping Fire Command available and ready-to-use in
ANY location possible to offer that additional protection for person & property.
Can you clean up Fire Command after being sprayed ?
YES – and very easily !
Dry Canisters will leave a smoke filled room full of residue that will be very costly
to clean up after spraying. Fire Command can be wiped up with paper towels.
Fire Command does not leave behind any powdery cloud of potentially toxic
chemicals and instead uses a GREEN environmentally friendly Nitrogen
propellant.
