2.5 Interface with signal source
The interface with a Signal Source can be done in three different ways, depending on the availability of separated UL
and DL connectors.
In cases when the signal source will be picked from the air, there is no need to add a Signal Booster to feed the Digital
Master. The Digital Master in its standard configuration can pick the signals from the air just by connecting a donor
antenna to it.
In case when a BTS is used as a Signal Source and the coupling is made thru a Point Of Interconnection (POI). A POI,
can consist on a simple attenuator, duplexer, coupler or a combination of them and it is needed to accommodate the
DL level to the design requested level.
