6.2.5 WLAN SETUP
 TheWLANsetupisstrictlydependentontheexistingwirelessnetworkinfrastructure.
 AexampleofWLANsetupisdepicted:
 •FromtheWinbondorRalinkWirelessUtilityiconontheWindowsTaskbarselect:“Start Windows Zero
Conguration”
 •Navigatethrough:“START -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Wireless Network Connection”
 andselectoneoftheavailablenetworks.
 •Ifrequired,insertanetworkkeyorpassword.
 •TofurtherconguretheWLANparametersonthe“Wireless Network Connection”“Related Tasks”panel,select
 “Change advanced settings”.
 •The“Wireless Network Connection Properties”dialogpopsup,select“Wireless Networks”tab
 •Selectthepreferrednetworkandpress“Properties”toadjusttheauthentication/encryptionparameters.

SettingupanEthernetconnectionisjustamatterofpluggingtheEthernetcableintheRJ45jack.Itisadvisedtoswitchoff
 theWLANconnectioninordertosavebatterypower.
6.2.7 SCREEN BRIGHTNESS
TheProScribeispre-conguredtosavebatterypowerbyswitchingtheLCDbrightnesstoalowerlevelwhenthepower
plug is removed. Normal brightness is restored by going to:
 “ControlPanel>TabletandPenSettings>Display>Screen Brightness>PoweredbyBatteries”andbymovingtheslide
 barto“Bright”.
