FOR TROUBLE-SHOOTING WITH A JUMPER WIRE IN PLACE 
IMPORTANT: Damper must be OPEN before combustion can take place.

COMBUSTION 
1.  Is gas turned on. 
2.  Operating limit, pressure control or 
low water cut off not on. 
3.  Blocked vent switch or flame roll out 
switch tripped. 
4.  Loose or broken connection 
5.  Defective component in appliance 
after the vent damper. 
1.  Make sure gas is on. 
2.  Make sure operating limit, pressure 
control or low water cut off is on. 
3.  Reset or replace blocked vent 
switch or flame roll out switch. 
4.  Tighten, repair or replace 
connection 
5.  Replace defective component in 
appliance. 
Damper Sticks 
1.  Something obstructing damper 
blade. 
2.  Damper pipe egg shaped. 
Out of round / binding. 
3.  Crimped end of vent pipe 
inserted in too far. 
1.  Make sure damper blade is free 
of all obstructions. 
2.  Adjust damper pipe or replace 
vent damper. 
3.  Properly align and secure vent 
pipe making sure damper blade 
will touch vent pipe. 
Damper Rotates Continuously 
1.  Defective damper motor 
assembly. 
1.  Replace damper motor 
assembly.
