NOTE: DO NOT TURN DAMPER MANUALLY OR MOTOR DAMAGE WILL OCCUR.

This device MUST be installed by a quali ed agency in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

The de nition of a quali ed agency is: any individual,  rm, corporation or company which either in person or through

a representative is engaged in, and is responsible for, the installation and operation of HVAC appliances, who is

experienced in such work, familiar with all the precautions required, and has complied with all the requirements of

the authority having jurisdiction.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. Remove the FAD replacement motor assembly from the packaging and examine for possible shipping damage. Verifying proper alignment of the wiring harness connectors on the existing motor assembly disconnect the wiring harness connector and strain relief connector from the motor assembly. Carefully inspect the wiring harness connectors for looseness, corrosion, or other damage to the terminals.

CHECKOUT PROCEDURE 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Verify that the service switch on the replacement motor assembly is in the “Automatic” position, as denoted on the motor cover. (See Figure 2) Confirm if the damper with the replaced motor assembly is the return, outside, or relief damper. Following the ventCool™ Instructions, press “Mode”, and “Off” on the smart thermostat to put the HVAC system on standby.
