2.11 Wi-Fi Easy Mesh
XGS-PON Fiber Gateway complies with Wi-Fi ®Alliance Multi-AP specification, acting as a WLAN
controller to the Altice Labs Smart Mesh Wi-Fi extenders.
Wi-Fi EasyMesh™ networks utilize multiple APs that work together to ensure all areas of the home have
complete Wi-Fi coverage and enable changing network conditions to deliver a consistent, high quality
user experience.
Altice Labs has dedicated major attention to the in-house Wi-Fi coverage scenarios and has developed
a Smart Mesh Wi-Fi certified solution based on Wi-Fi EasyMesh™ from Wi-Fi Alliance®. The solution
incorporate hardware (FGW and Smart Mesh Wi-Fi AP extenders), a mobile user APP (Android &iOS)
and a unified portal cloud based to configure, manage and report the Wi-Fi mesh ecosystem. Both FGW
and Smart Mesh Wi-Fi APs will run local software (local Controller, local Agent and a SmartMesh Wi-Fi
Management agent) supported on high performance state of the art Wi-Fi interfacing.

2.12 Multiple QoS per VLAN
The XGS-PON Fiber Gateway supports 802.1p QoS per VLAN services in which several flows (one per
allowed pbit) are embedded in the same VLAN. According to the applied configuration, the ONT
Gateway performs a per-flow QoS policy: dropping traffic marked with not allowed pbits and limiting to
the configured value the data rate of the allowed flows.
The XGS-PON Fiber ONT Gateway performs transparent VLAN translation. It is transparent to upper
layer protocols, such as ARP, RIP, DHCP, IGMP, PPP, etc.
