The XGS-PON IC Processing unit is the core component inside XGS-PON Fiber Gateway. It is
responsible for the interconnection and processing between client side interfacing and optical XGS-PON
Uplink interface.
2.7 PON
Fiber Gateway PON port type is XGS-PON, and uses an optical conncetor SC/APC.
The XGS-PON Fiber Gateway XGS-PON layer as G.9807.1 uses optical wavelenghs in the range of
1575 to 1580 nm downstream and in the range of 1260 to nm upstream, with a bit rate of 9.95328Gbps
both downstream and upstream by using an SC/APC protected optical connector.
2.8 Ethernet
Ethernet is the wired LAN technology and is revised in the IEEE 802.3 standard. At the OSI reference
system, Ethernet is at the Data Link layer. In the XGS-PON Fiber Gateway equipment LAN type of
physical interfaces are 10/100/1000BASE-T AUTO-MIX Ethernet type over RJ45 conectors; 1/10GE
interface is of type 1/10GBASE-X via an SFP/SFP+ module.
