Railing Kits for CableRail are an easy to purchase, easy to install aluminum railing
system with all the quality you’ve come to expect from DesignRail

. This streamlined set of railing
kits was developed for convenient pick-up at your local dealer and quick installation. Simple.
• Designed for fast and easy installation of CableRail stainless steel infill with pre-drilled
posts and intermediate pickets
• Available in 36" and 42" railing heights
• Durable AAMA-2604 powder-coated finishes for long lasting beauty and ultra-low
maintainence
• Pre-engineered components that snap and screw together
• Made from high strength 6000 series aluminum
Railing components are sold in individual kits. A complete railing system will require specific
quantities and types of kits depending on the length and configuration of the railing project.
Easy to Use Kits

Aluminum Rail Kits:
Rail Kits contain the rails that run between the posts. Each kit includes a 6 foot top and bottom
rail, an intermediate picket, and attachment hardware. The rails can be trimmed to exact length
in the field. Rail Kits can either be used with DesignRail
®
Aluminum Post Kits or with your own
wood posts.
• 6-ft Rail Kit - for level railing sections
• 6-ft Stair Rail Kit - for stair railing sections

Aluminum Post Kits for CableRail:
Each Post Kit includes a post with a pre-attached base plate, a post cap to cover the top, and
mounting screws and caps. All posts are pre-drilled for the cable or cable fittings to pass through.
Stair posts are pre-drilled at an angle to accommodate a stair slope of between 29 and 34
degrees. Post Kits are available for 36” or 42” high level railings and 36” high stair railings. There
are five types of Post Kits:
• Intermediate Post Kit - for level railing sections; pre-drilled for cable
• Threaded Terminal End Post Kit - for level railing sections; pre-drilled to fit the cable Threaded Terminal end fittings
• Quick-Connect® End Post Kit - for level railing sections; pre-drilled to fit the cable Quick-Connect
®

• Stair Threaded Terminal End Post Kit - for stair railing sections only; pre-drilled at an angle to fit the cable Threaded

CableRail Assemblies & Accessories:
• CableRail Standard Cable Assemblies: sold individually in standardized lengths that can
be trimmed to exact lengths in the field (see Materials Order List), includes Threaded
Terminal and
Quick-Connect
®
attachment fittings. Assemblies are available in two styles:
with a 7-1/2” terminal for wood posts, with a 4-1/4” terminal for DesignRail
®

• CableRail Accessories and Tools: Includes items such as end caps to cover exposed
ends of cable end fittings, beveled washers to provide a flat bearing surface for attaching
cable fittings on stair end posts, and a cable lacing needle to help quickly lace the cables
through the posts without snagging
