Termination
Termination of the fieldbus requires a terminating resistor at each end of the fieldbus. A ter-
mination switch is provided on the Profibus-DP interface board. Set the switch to “ON”, if
termination is required. If external terminators are used, the switch must be in the off posi-
tion.
GSD File
Each device on a Profibus network is associated with a GSD file containing all necessary in-
formation about the device to be connected. The network configuration program uses this file
during configuration of the network.
The GSD file associated with the FEC device can be downloaded from the FEC website.
