FastMeasure was developed by Ernie Kaplan of Kaplan
Trucking and Paving Co., Inc of Lincolnshire IL. Kaplan was
the first StreetPrint applicator in the United States and
developed many of the processes still being used today.
After 28 years, Kaplan sold the business to pursue other
interests and product development related to the pavement
industries. Kaplan had a distance measuring device in his
car for many years, when he went to replace it all the other
units on the market were too big, too complicated and had
features that would never be used.
Kaplan used his DMI for many years but never sold them to
his local competitors because having a measuring device in
your vehicle is a competitive advantage.
