INFORMACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD IMPORTANTE LEA TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES ANTES DE USAR. ¡ADVERTENCIA! Utilice este aparato eléctrico sólo con el objetivo que se describe en este Manual del Usuario. PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD Al utilizar aparatos eléctricos se deben acatar un número de precauciones de seguridad básicas, tales como: • Antes de iniciar su utilización, este frigorífico debe instalarse y ubicarse correctamente de acuerdo con las Instrucciones de Instalación.
¡ADVERTENCIA! CÓMO CONECTAR LA ELECTRICIDAD Si el cable de alimentación sufre algún tipo de daño, un representante del Servicio de Asistencia Técnica de FAGOR debe reemplazarlo a fin de evitar un riesgo para la seguridad. Nunca desenchufe el frigorífico tirando del cable de alimentación. Siempre tome con firmeza el enchufe del frigorífico y retírelo de la toma de corriente de la pared. Repare o reemplace inmediatamente todos los cables de alimentación que se hayan desgastado o dañado.
Los controles de temperatura. Controles de ajuste externos (0-9) Los controles de la temperatura vienen preconfigurados de fábrica a 5 para los compartimientos del frigorífico y del congelador. Para ajustar la temperatura, pulse el botón "+" (más caliente) o "-" (más frío) en el lateral del congelador o del frigorífico. La luz de ajuste se encenderá. Pulse "+" (más caliente) o "-" (más frío) hasta alcanzar el ajuste deseado. Puede que sea necesario hacer varios ajustes.
El filtro de agua. Instalar el cartucho del filtro El cartucho del filtro de agua está ubicado en la esquina superior derecha trasera del compartimento del frigorífico. ¿Cuando se debe reemplazar el filtro? En el dispensador hay una luz de indicación de recambio del cartucho del filtro del agua. Cuando esta luz se vuelva anaranjada estará indicando que el cartucho debe ser reemplazado pronto.
Estantes y recipientes del frigorífico. No todos los modelos tienen todas las características. Recipientes de la puerta del frigorífico y recipientes abatibles de la puerta de congelador Recipiente abatible del congelador Recipientes grandes Los recipientes de la puerta del frigorífico y los recipientes abatibles de la puerta de congelador más grandes son ajustables. Para extraerlos: Levante la parte frontal del recipiente hacia arriba, a continuación levántelo y sáquelo.
Estantes y recipientes del frigorífico. No todos los modelos tienen todas las características. Cestas hondas del congelador Para remover, empuje la cesta totalmente hacia la parte posterior del congelador. Levante hasta que los pasadores posteriores sean desenganchados. Levante la cesta completa hacia arriba y hacia afuera. PRECAUCIÓN: Si las cestas del congelador no se usan, éste podría presentar un funcionamiento defectuoso.
El compartimento del congelador. Cómo llenar el congelador Llénelo de forma que quede un espacio libre de, al menos, 15 mm entre los paquetes y 25 mm de espacio entre la parte superior de cualquier paquete y el estante o la cesta situado sobre del mismo. Los paquetes pueden colgar por fuera de la parte posterior de los estantes, pero deberán mantener una distancia de unos 15 mm con las puertas. • Los alimentos a congelar no debe ponerse en contacto directo con la comida almacenada.
Cajones y recipientes. No todos los modelos tienen todas las características. Cajones para frutas y vegetales El exceso de agua que pueda acumularse en el fondo de los cajones debe secarse. En algunos modelos, el cajón de abajo tiene una tapa que se desliza hacia atrás cuando se abre el cajón. Esto permite un acceso completo al mismo. Cuando el cajón se cierra, la tapa se deslizará hacia adelante volviendo a su posición original.
Dispositivo automático para hacer hielo. Un frigorífico recién instalado puede tardar de 12 a 24 horas antes de empezar a hacer hielo. Dispositivo automático para hacer hielo Tire de la parrilla superior del congelador hacia afuera para acceder al dispositivo de hacer hielo. Cerciórese de reemplazar siempre la parrilla; puede usarse para almacenamiento.
Dispensador de agua y hielos. (en algunos modelos) Para usar el dispensador Recogedor Seleccione CUBED (cubitos), CRUSHED (picado) o WATER (agua). Presione el vaso suavemente contra la parte superior de la base del dispensador. El recogedor no se vacía solo. Para evitar las restos de agua, el recogedor y la parrilla se deberán limpiar regularmente. Si no se dispensa agua tras la primera instalación del frigorífico, puede que haya aire en el sistema de conductos de agua.
Cuidado y limpieza del frigorífico. Limpieza del interior Para evitar olores, deje un envase de bicarbonato de sodio abierto en los compartimientos de alimentos frescos y del congelador. Desconecte el frigorífico antes de limpiarlo. Si esto no es posible, exprima el exceso de humedad de la esponja o del paño cuando se limpie alrededor de botones, bombillas o controles. Utilice una solución de agua tibia y bicarbonato de sodio, una cucharada (15 ml) de bicarbonato de sodio en un 1 litro de agua.
Reemplazo de bombillas. El colocar el control en posición 0 (apagado) no remueve la corriente eléctrica del circuito de la luz. La cubierta de luz de su aparato puede parecerse a una de las siguientes: Luz superior del compartimento del frigorífico 1. Desenchufe el frigorífico. 2. Las bombillas están situadas en la parte superior del compartimento, dentro de la cubierta de la luz. En algunos modelos, es necesario retirar un tornillo de la parte frontal de la cubierta de la luz.

Instrucciones de instalación RODILLOS ALINEACIÓN DE LAS PUERTAS Los rodillos cumplen 3 funciones: Después de nivelar, asegúrese de que la puerta del frigorífico esté a 1/16" más alta que la puerta del congelador. Para emparejar las puertas, ajuste la puerta del frigorífico. 1. Usando una llave de tubo de 7/16", gire el tornillo de ajuste de la puerta hacia la derecha para elevar la puerta; gírelo hacia la izquierda para hacerla descender.

Instrucciones de instalación CONEXIÓN A LA TOMA DE AGUA ANTES DE COMENZAR Siga estas recomendaciones cuidadosamente para minimizar el riesgo de costosos daños causados por el agua. El agua que suena como un martillo en las tuberías, puede dañar algunas partes del frigorífico y también causar escapes o inundaciones. Llame a un técnico calificado para arreglar los problemas de fontanería antes de instalar el suministro de agua para el frigorífico.
Instrucciones de instalación 2. ENCIENDA EL AGUA Y CONECTE EL FRIGORÍFICO Arregle el rollo de tuberías para que no vibre contra la parte posterior del frigorífico o contra la pared. Empuje el frigorífico contra la pared otra vez. 3. PONGA EN MARCHA EL DISPOSITIVO PARA HACER HIELO Ponga el interruptor de corriente del dispositivo para hacer hielo en la posición l. El dispositivo para hacer hielo no entrará en funcionamiento hasta que haya alcanzado su temperatura de funcionamiento de –9°C o inferior.
Sonidos normales de operación. Los frigoríficos más nuevos producen sonidos diferentes a los modelos más antiguos. Los frigoríficos modernos tienen más funciones y usan tecnología más reciente. ¿Usted escucha lo que yo escucho? Estos sonidos son normales. • El nuevo compresor de alta eficiencia puede funcionar más rápido y durante más tiempo que el de su frigorífico anterior y puede escuchar un zumbido de tono alto o un sonido pulsante mientras opera.
Antes de solicitar servicio… Solucionar problemas ¡Ahorre tiempo y dinero! Revise las tablas de las siguientes páginas y tal vez no necesite llamar al servicio técnico. Los cubitos de hielo tienen mal olor/sabor El recipiente para los cubos necesita limpieza. • Vacíe y limpie el recipiente. Deseche los cubos.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. WARNING! Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this User’s Manual. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following: • This refrigerator must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used. Also see the How to Connect Electricity section.
WARNING! HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY The power cord of this appliance is equipped with an earthing plug which mates with a standard earthed wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance. Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly earthed. Where an unearthed wall outlet is encountered, it is your personal responsibility and obligation to have it replaced with a properly earthed wall outlet.
About the temperature controls. External Set Point Controls (0-9) The temperature controls are preset in the factory at 5 for both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. To adjust the set point temperature, press the "+" (warmer) or "-" (colder) button on either the Freezer or Refrigerator side. The set point light will come on. Press "+" or "-" until the desired setting is reached. Several adjustments may be required.
About the water filter. Water Filter Cartridge The water filter cartridge is located in the back upper right corner of the refrigerator compartment. When to Replace the Filter There is a replacement indicator light for the water filter cartridge on the dispenser. This light will turn orange to tell you that you need to replace the filter soon. The filter cartridge should be replaced when the replacement indicator light turns red or if the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases.
About the shelves and bins. Not all features are on all models. Refrigerator Door Bins and Freezer Door Tilt-Out Bins Freezer tilt-out bin Large Bins The larger refrigerator door bins and freezer tilt-out door bins are adjustable. To remove: Lift the front of the bin straight up, then lift up and out. To replace or relocate: Engage the back side of the bin in the molded supports of the door. Then push down on the front of the bin. Bin will lock in place.
About the shelves and bins. Not all features are on all models. Deep Freezer Baskets To remove, push the basket all the way to the back of the freezer. Lift up until the back pins are disengaged. Lift the entire basket up and pull out. WARNING: Poor performance may occur if freezer baskets are not used. Storage of items in the freezer without using baskets may result in poor temperature performance due to restrictions of air flow within the freezer compartment.
About the freezer compartment. Loading the Freezer Compartment Load so that at least 15 mm of space remains clear between stacks of packages and 15 mm to 25 mm of space between the top of any stack and any shelf or basket above it. Packages may hang over the front of shelves but must remain 15 mm from doors. • Food to be frozen must not be placed in direct contact with food in storage. If food is to be frozen every day, it may be necessary to reduce the quantity to be frozen.
About the crispers and pans. Not all features are on all models. Fruit and Vegetable Crispers Excess water that may accumulate in the bottom of the drawers should be wiped dry. On some models the bottom drawer has a cover that slides back as the drawer is opened. This allows full access to the drawer. As the drawer is closed, the cover will slide forward into its original position.
About the automatic icemaker. A newly-installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice. Automatic Icemaker The icemaker will produce seven cubes per cycle– approximately 100–130 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other use conditions. To access ice or reach the power switch: To access the icemaker: Pull the shelf above the ice drawer straight out. Always be sure to replace the shelf.
About the ice and water dispenser. (on some models) To Use the Dispenser Spill Shelf Select CUBED, CRUSHED or WATER. Press the glass gently against the top of the dispenser cradle. The spill shelf is not self-draining. To reduce water spotting, the shelf and its grille should be cleaned regularly. If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is first installed, there may be air in the water line system.
Care and cleaning of the refrigerator. Cleaning the Inside To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the fresh food and freezer compartments. Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. If this is not practical, wring excess moisture out of sponge or cloth when cleaning around switches, lights or controls. Use warm water and baking soda solution— about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a quart (1 liter) of water. This both cleans and neutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry.
Replacing the light bulbs. Setting the controls to 0 (off) does not remove power to the light circuit. Your light shield will look like one of the following: Refrigerator Compartment—Upper Light 1. Unplug the refrigerator. 2. The bulbs are located at the top of the compartment, inside the light shield. On some models, a screw at the front of the light shield will have to be removed. On other models, the screw is located in the pocket located at the back of the light shield. 3.

Installation Instructions ROLLERS DOOR ALIGNMENT The rollers have 3 purposes: After leveling, make sure that the refrigerator door is 1/16" higher than the freezer door. • Rollers adjust so the door closes easily when opened about halfway. [Raise the front about 5/8" (16 mm) from the floor.] • Rollers adjust so the refrigerator is firmly positioned on the floor and does not wobble. • Rollers allow you to move the refrigerator away from the wall for cleaning.

Installation Instructions BEFORE YOU BEGIN Follow these recommendations carefully to minimize the risk of expensive water damage. Water hammer (water banging in the pipes) in house plumbing can cause damage to refrigerator parts and lead to water leakage or flooding. Call a qualified plumber to correct water hammer before installing the water supply line to the refrigerator. 1. CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE REFRIGERATOR (CONT.
Installation Instructions 2. TURN THE WATER ON AND PLUG IN THE REFRIGERATOR Arrange the coil of tubing so that it does not vibrate against the back of the refrigerator or against the wall. Push the refrigerator back to the wall. 3. START THE ICEMAKER Set the icemaker power switch to the l position. The icemaker will not begin to operate until it reaches its operating temperature of –9°C or below. It will then begin operation automatically if the icemaker power switch is in the l position.
Normal operating sounds. Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. Modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. Do you hear what I hear? These sounds are normal. • The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. • You may hear a whooshing sound when the doors close. This is due to pressure equalizing within the refrigerator.
Before you call for service… Troubleshooting Tips Save time and money! Review the charts on the following pages first and you may not need to call for service.
