Installation – 27479XX0 The extension pipe requires a 1/2" NPT male nipple, extending 5/8" outside the finished ceiling surface. Seal the ceiling around the nipple with waterproof sealant. Failure to seal the ceiling can lead to possible water damage. Wrap the threads on the ceiling nipple with Teflon tape. Hold the escutcheon against the ceiling. Screw the extension pipe onto the nipple.
Installation – 27413XX1/27422XX1/27412XX1 The showerarm requires a 1/2" NPT male nipple, extending 5/8" from the surface of the finished wall. Seal the wall around the nipple with waterproof sealant. Failure to seal the wall can lead to possible water damage. Wrap the threads on the nipple with Teflon tape. Screw the showerarm onto the nipple.
Installation – 27474XX1/27476XX1/ 27493XX1 Screw the showerhead to the showerarm or extension pipe. Tighten with a wrench. Do not overtighten, or damage may result. Tighten the safety screw using a 2 mm Allen wrench. Turn on the water and check the connection for leaks.
Scale Removal The Raindance and Downpour showerheads use the Quick Clean™ cleaning system. Turn the water on lightly and rub the spray channels with a finger or a sponge to dislodge any scale deposits. To remove scale buildup on the spray face, pour about 3/4" of a commercial scale remover, such as Lime-Away™ or CLR™, into a shallow dish. Always follow the label instructions on the scale remover. Soak the spray face in the solution. Rinse the showerhead with clear water. Install the showerhead.
Clean the air nozzle Remove the pivot ball assembly using a strap wrench*. *available at hardware stores Remove the retaining ring. Unscrew the air nozzle screw.
Soak the air nozzle in a commercial scale remover, such as LimeAway™ or CLR™. Always follow the label instructions on the scale remover. Rinse the nozzle with clear water. Install the air nozzle. Tighten the screw.
Install the retaining ring. Install the pivot ball assembly. Tighten using a strap wrench.
