HOMEVIEW SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The HOMEView system was designed to be plugged into a network router for your convenience. Routers provide quick and easy setup of the HOMEView system while allowing your internet connections and home networks to interact seamlessly with your PC. 1-800-435-0544 1 - QUICK START GUIDE Connecting Cameras to a Router Step 1: Connecting your Cameras and PLC modules to the power grid. Note: It is important that this step is performed first. This step gives the system time to automatically assign device addresses and establish a communication network across your power grid. a. Plug one PLC module into a power outlet located near your router. b. Plug one end of a network cable into the PLC Module… c.
1-800-435-0544 That’s all you need to do to create your camera network over your electrical power grid. The cameras will start to communicate with the router and have their individual IP address assigned. Once the PLC Modules are communicating with the router the green lights on the front of the PLC Modules, labeled Ethernet and Data, will start to flicker. This flicker indicates the router is communicating with the cameras. This process can take 2-5 minutes for the system to create this communication path.

Start the Main Console: Once the HOMEView software is installed, double-click the Main Console icon from the desktop or through the Start Menu. Enter User Name and Password: The first time you log onto the HOMEView system, it will require you to enter a password for the “admin” user name. Enter the password you like into the edit box and then enter it again in the Confirm Password and then press “OK”.
1-800-435-0544 Step 6: Setting Up HOMEView Cameras for Viewing and Recording ADD HOMEVIEW CAMERA(S) Make sure you are logged into the HOMEView system Main Console. From the Main Console screen, click on the Config icon at the bottom of the screen and then choose Setting from the menu. From the Settings window, click on the “Camera” tab. Click “Search” to search for the HOMEView cameras that are connected to your system.
1-800-435-0544 IMPORTANT: If you are setting up multiple cameras, click on the next camera in the list so it is highlighted in blue and enter admin for the “User Name” and “Password”. When this has been completed for each camera, click on the OK button to save the settings. Then click the OK button on the Settings window. START RECORDING In the Main Console, go to Start. Click on “Start Recording Schedule”. By default, your cameras are now set to record 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Minimize Exit Screen Division EXIT: Shut down the Surveillance System or log out current user. MINIMIZE: Minimize the Main Console window. SCREEN DIVISION: Allocate the sub-screen display by clicking on the desired layout icon. To switch to single camera display, double click on a particular sub-screen.

You can adjust the sensitivity, interval and area of motion detection in the Schedule Configuration. Insert a New Schedule Manually Step 1: Left-click and draw the bar you want to the time table. The scheduled time will show as a grey bar.

Option 1: Move the cursor to the Time Bar and change the length or move the bar sideways to change the start and end times. Option 2: Click on the Configure icon or double click on the schedule information on the screen (highlighted in blue or red) to open the recording option panel. Minimize Exit Scroll Bar Control Speed Zoom Cue MINIMIZE: Minimize the Playback console. EXIT: Shut down the Playback console. SCROLL BAR: Indicate the status of the playing video; drag it to where you want to review. CONTROL: Play, pause and stop the video.

From the Main Console, go to Config > Network Service to obtain the Network Service panel. 5.10.1 Live Streaming Server When starting the live streaming function of your computer, you allow remote users to log on to the specific computer and view cameras that are connected to it.

1-800-435-0544 8 - Trouble Shooting Problem: The lights labeled “Ethernet” and “Data” on a PLC module are not flashing or a camera does not appear in the Search IP Camera screen. Both situations are caused by the cameras not properly communicating with the PLC module connected to the router. Once the communication is reliably established the cameras will appear in the Search IP camera screen. There are several site specific variables which can cause this.
