Instant Alert
A useful application for the VoiceLift System is the instant alert. By connecting an
MLC 104 IP Plus controller to the relay port of the VLR 102 Receiver, you can set up
e-mail alerts to be sent out when both parts of the microphone Volume button are
pressed and held for 3 seconds. This section provides instructions for setting up an
instant alert using an MLC 104 IP Plus Controller.
NOTE: This is not a “life safety” feature because it depends on line of sight or
reflection to the receiver.
1. Remove the receiver dome from the housing (see Removing and Replacing the
Receiver Dome on page 23).
2. Wire one of the provided 2-pole captive screw connectors to one end of a
communication cable. Insert the red wire in the left slot of the connector and the
black wire in the right slot and tighten the screws.
3. Plug the connector into the receiver Rly (relay) port. Ensure that the red wire is
connected to the NO (normally open) port and the black wire is connected to the C
(common) port.
