Remote Control Mode 
In addition to ‘passthrough’ operation outlined above, a VN-MATRIX serial input can be configured to 
communicate directly with the VN-MATRIX controller. This provides basic serial ‘remote control’ 
functionality of a VN-MATRIX system, such as display source switching. A full list of serial commands 
can be found on page 93. 
One or more devices are designated as clients (in remote control mode). Data received by a device 
‘input’ is then automatically transmitted using TCP/IP over the network to the VN-MATRIX controller: 
Serial remote control functionality is totally independent of whether a VN-MATRIX is configured as an 
encoder or decoder.
