The appearance of the window in the palette changes
depending on whether it is docked (not used in the scene)
or undocked (is used in the scene):

To add more Windows to the Palette...
Remember that windows cannot be deleted from the
windows palette.

Either:
• Right-click anywhere in the window palette, or
• Right-click in the virtual display or workspace
area (but not on an existing window).

From the pop-up menu that appears, choose the
Add Window option.
A new window will appear containing a default color wash
and given the next available window number.
When you place the mouse pointer over any window in
the palette a pop-up box will appear showing the
window number and its source type.
