TP cable termination
RJ-45 termination with CAT 5, CAT 5e, or CAT 6
cable (for non-C7 units only) or CAT 7 cable (for C7
units only) must comply with the TIA/EIA T568A or
TIA/EIA T568B wiring standards for all connections.
RJ-45 termination with Skew-Free A/V UTP cable (for
non-C7 units only) must comply with TIA/EIA T568A
only.
The non C7 transmitters and receivers will not work
properly with CAT 7 TP cable.
The C7 transmitters and receivers will work properly
only with CAT 7 UTP cable.
Figure 11 shows the recommended termination of TP cables in
accordance with the TIA/EIA T568A or TIA/EIA T568B wiring
standards. You can use either standard with CAT 5, 5e, 6, or 7
cable, but use the same standard on both ends of the cable.

For proper gounding of CAT 7 cable only, ensure the
shield around each wire pair and the shield around the
CAT 7 cable are all tied to the RJ-45 connectors on both
ends, in accordance with the connector manufacturer’s
specifications.
Enhanced Skew-free A/V cable is not recommended
for Ethernet/LAN applications. This cable is specially
designed for compatibility with Extron’s Twisted Pair
products that are wired using the TIA/EIA 568A
standard.
