Installation and Operation About the IR 102 Kit The Extron IR 102 Kit is an infrared (IR) remote control kit that can control a variety of Extron switchers and other devices via RS-232 or contact closure. This kit contains the following items: • (1) IR 102 handheld remote control • (1) IR 102 Rx remote receiver • (1) IR Sensor UL requirements The following Underwriters Laboratories (UL) requirements pertain to the installation of the IR 102 Rx into or onto a rack. 1.
Installation and Operation, cont’d Furniture mounting Furniture mount the IR 102 Rx remote receiver using optional mounting kit #70-212-01 as follows: 1. Use 2 mounting holes on opposite corners. (2) 4-40 x 3/16" Screws If rubber feet were previously installed on the bottom of the remote receiver, remove them. 3. Under Desk Mounting Hold the remote receiver with the attached brackets against the underside of the table or other furniture.

Installation and Operation, cont’d N The PMK 300 has a hole in the bottom plate that allows the projector pole to be inserted through the center of the plate, rather than outside of the plate (see the illustration below). To install the PMK 300 in this configuration, slide the bracket up from the bottom of the pole before the projector is installed on the pole. Mounting using the PMK 350 projector mounting kit The IR 102 Rx can also be mounted using the PMK 350, as shown below.
Installation and Operation, cont’d 6. Place the PMK 350 mounting tray around the projector ceiling mounting pole. (See the illustration on page 1-9.) 7. Assemble the U-bolt and the following parts in the order they are listed below: Features and Connections 1 IR 102 Rx UNIVERSAL IR REMOTE RECEIVER POWER 12V .5A MAX c. Pass the U-bolt legs through the round holes in the contoured base. 2 d. Pass the U-bolt legs through the round holes in the L-shaped bracket. 8.

Remove power before continuing. e To verify the polarity before connection, plug in the power supply with no load and check the output with a voltmeter. c IR In connector — Plug the cable from the IR sensor or from an Extron IR Link infrared repeater into this 3.5 mm, 5-pole captive screw connector.
Installation and Operation, cont’d Installing Batteries in the Remote Control Operation The IR 102 handheld remote control is shown below. 1 INPUT/OUTPUT SELECTION 2 3 4 To select an input using the IR 102 remote control, aim the handheld unit at the IR detector and press the numeric button for the desired input. For switchers with ten or more inputs, press the +10 key to add ten to the input number selected. For example, to select input 17, press the +10 key, then the 7 key.
