Specific Problems
The table below shows some common operating problems and their solutions.
Problem Possible cause Solution
No image 
appears.
Power. Ensure that the video source, the 
switcher, and the display are plugged 
into a live AC power source and that the 
switcher is turned on.
No video input. Check that the input device is outputting 
a video signal.
No video output. Press the Menu button. If the on-screen 
display does not appear, check the 
output connection.
The output signal is 
incompatible.
Select an output rate that is compatible 
with the display.
The output format is 
incompatible for the display.
Press and hold the front panel PIP On 
button while powering up the switcher. 
The IN1508 toggles between the RGB 
and YUV output formats.
The display may not accept 
the output sync format.
Check the sync capability of the display 
and select the correct output sync.
Freeze mode was entered 
when the image was black.
Issue the SIS command 0F to deactivate 
freeze mode.
Video may be muted. Issue the SIS command 0B to disable 
video mute.
No audio 
output.
Power. Ensure that the audio source, 
the switcher, and the amplifier/ speakers 
are plugged into a live AC power source 
and the switcher is turned on.
The source is incorrect. Ensure that the source is connected to 
the correct input and that the volume 
has not been turned down or muted.
The output is incorrect. The IN1508 outputs line level audio 
only. Ensure that it is connected to a 
mixer/amplifier or to amplified speakers.
Volume is too low. Increase the volume using the Audio 
submenu.
Audio may be muted. Issue the SIS command 0Z to disable 
audio mute.
The image is 
scrambled.
The output signal is 
incompatible.
Use the power up shortcuts to select an 
output format (RGB, component, and 
the like) and rate that are compatible 
with the display.
