SMX System MultiMatrix
Modular Multi-Plane Matrix Switcher
The SMX System MultiMatrix Series of multi-plane matrix switchers
combines proven reliability and high performance of Extron's
popular CrossPoint Ultra, MAV Plus, HDXP Plus, and MVX Series
matrix switchers with the efficiency of a truly modular, field-
configurable matrix switcher design. SMX frames are available in
sizes up to 5U, capable of supporting up to 10 separate matrix boards
which can be switched independently or simultaneously, all under a
single point of control. The SMX System is ideal for use in hybrid A/V
signal routing applications where a variety of analog and digital signal
types must be routed within the same room or facility. SMX is also
an appropriate choice for applications that require a cost-effective
upgrade path for ongoing I/O size or signal format changes.

SMX FRAME RPS
Modular Multi-plane Matrix Switcher Frame with
Redundant Power Supply
The SMX 200 Frame supports up to four independent
matrix switchers in a compact, 2U enclosure. The
unique, hot-swappable card-cage design quickly
aligns each matrix board on its own horizontal plane.
Matrix boards can be installed without switcher
disassembly, new firmware, or even the need to
remove a previously-installed SMX switcher from the
rack. As A/V signal routing needs change over time,
choose new matrix boards to adapt the SMX to the
new requirements.

SMX 200, 300, 400, and 500 Frames are available
with a redundant power supply for use in mission-
critical applications that require around-the-clock
operation with no tolerance for downtime. The power
supply system is configured to automatically switch
over to a spare, hot power supply in the event of a
primary power supply malfunction.
