5. Connect a computer that runs the Windows operating system to a switcher serial port,
the USB port (FOX Matrix 320x, see item

, the Configuration port, on page 17) or the
switcher LAN port (see item

, the Ethernet Port, on page 14).
6. Start the Matrix Switchers Control Program and connect to the matrix switcher (see
Using the Matrix Switcher Control Software, steps 1 through 4, starting on
page 39).
7. Click Tools > Update firmware.
• If the switcher is connected via the LAN port, the Select Files window appears
(see figure 23). Perform “Ethernet-connected firmware upload,” below.

• If the switcher is connected via either serial port, the Extron Firmware
Loader opens (see figure 24 on the next page). Perform Serial-port-connected
firmware upload, beginning on the next page.
Ethernet-connected firmware upload
1. Navigate to the folder where you saved the firmware upgrade file (see figure 23, above).
Select the file.
2. Click the Open button. The software advises you that you are about to reprogram the
switcher firmware. Click OK to continue.
A status window, which shows the progress of the
upload, appears. The firmware upload to the
FOX matrix switcher may take a few minutes.
