Special Note: If applying to OSB or plywood,
apply clip to siding before nailing
Note: Use a hammer to tap clip in place when placing

Note 2: To protect your painted surface while
removing the clip with hammer slip the provided
protective paper behind each clip. Save the papers
to reuse throughout the project

Smart Spacers
Fiber Spacers
When installing 5/16” Fiber Cement
Lap siding, Use “Fiber Spacers.”
On Fiber cement board it is
recommended that you use 3 clips
per piece of siding. It has been
determined that you will need one
more clip per piece of siding when
installing 9 1/4” or 12” lap siding.
When installing 3/8” or 7/16”
Smartside™ Lap siding, Use
“Smart Spacers.” On Smartside™
it is recommended you use 4 clips
per piece of siding. It has been
determined that you will need one
more clip per piece of siding when
installing 12” Fiber or strand lap
siding.
