Power Cord Requirements for AC-Powered Switches and AC Power
Supplies
An AC power cord is not included with the AC power supply.
Power cords used with AC-powered switches or AC power supplies must meet the following
requirements:
The power cord must be agency-certified for the country of use.
The power cord must have an IEC320-C13 connector for connection to the switch or power supply.
The power cord must have an appropriately rated and approved wall plug applicable to the country
of installation.
For cords up to 6 feet (2 m) long, the wire size must be 18 AWG (.75 mm
2
) minimum; over 6 feet, the
minimum wire size is 16 AWG (1.0 mm
2
).
The power cords for switches that use either the 1100 W or 715 W power supplies are keyed with a
“notch” to ensure the proper orientation when plugged in. These cords are of 3x14 AWG.
