Installation Guide

To replace an XGM3/XGM3S series port option card:
1. Attach an ESD-preventive wrist strap to your bare wrist and connect the metal end to an
appropriate ground point on the rack.
2. Loosen the captive retaining screws on the option card until they are completely loose (see Figure
440).
3. Carefully slide the option card out of the slot.

4. Carefully slide the replacement option card into the switch.

5. Align and tighten the captive retaining screws.
Replacing a Versatile Interface Module (VIM) in a Summit X480, X650
or X670 Series Switch
You need the following tools and materials to replace a VIM:
