b. Insert the provided screws and fully tighten the screws using a screwdriver.

c. Attach the mounting bracket on the opposite side of the EPS-500.
4. Slide the EPS-500 into the rack and secure it using appropriate rack-mount screws.
Note
We recommend that you position the EPS-500 so that the output connectors are on the
same side as the external connector on the connecting switch. If you position the EPS-500
with the connectors facing in the opposite direction from the Summit switch connector,
leave at least 1 U between the switch and the EPS-500 through which to slide the power
cords. Do not route the power cords around the equipment rack.
Connecting the EPS-500 Power Supply
Caution
Do not attach the AC power cord to the EPS-500 unit until the unit is properly grounded at
the electrical outlet and the redundant power cord is connected.
One end of the EPS-500 cord has a keyed connector to ensure correct alignment of the connector. The
key is a plastic tab on the connector housing that fits into the EPS-500 unit.
