Portable and text editable backup
Summit WM Technical Reference Guide, Software Version 5.3134
● Extract the *.zip file.
● Modify the contents of the extracted controller_config.cli file.
● Compress the files with the .cli file at the root directory.
NOTE
The .cli file cannot be in a subdirectory when the .zip file is compressed.
Migration of the text editable backup files
● If a text editable backup file is migrated to a different Summit WM Controller, the management port
(eth0) and management gateway values in the .cli file must be revised to match the existing network
configuration.
● If a text editable backup file is migrated from a large capacity Summit WM Controller to a lower
capacity Summit WM Controller, for example from a WM200/2000 to a WM20 controller, license
limitation errors will be generated. These errors can be seen in the Restore/Import logs once the
import process has completed. When you attempt to log in to the Summit WM GUI, you will be
informed that the restore process has failed and you will be provided a link that directs you to the
error log.
NOTE
When migrating from a large capacity Summit WM Controller to a lower capacity Summit WM Controller, it is
recommended to remove extra ports and WM-ADs from the configuration file to avoid generating errors.
● The entire running process file can only be retrieved using the CLI command tech_support log.
