- Glossary
Category Subcategory Variable Definition
ifOutOctets The total number of octets
transmitted from the interface,
including framing characters.
ifOutMulticastPkts The total number of packets that
higher-level protocols requested
be transmitted, and that are
addressed to a multicast address
at this sublayer, including those
that are discarded or not sent. For
a MAC layer protocol, this
includes both Group and
Functional addresses.
ifoutBroadcastPkts The total number of packets that
higher level protocols requested
transmitted, and that were
addressed to a broadcast
address at this sublayer, including
those discarded or not sent.
ifLastChange The value of sysUpTime at the
time the interface entered its
current operational state. If the
current state was entered prior to
the last reinitialization of the local
network management subsystem,
this object contains a value of
zero.
RmonEther Stats etherStatsOctets The total number of octets of data
(including those in bad packets)
received on the network
(excluding framing bits but
including FCS octets). Use this
object as a reasonable estimate
of Ethernet utilization. For greater
precision, sample the
etherStatsPkts and
etherStatsOctets objects before
and after a common interval.
etherStatsPkts The total number of packets
(including bad packets, broadcast
packets, and multicast packets)
received.
etherStatsBroadcastPkts The total number of good packets
received that are directed to the
broadcast address. This number
does not include multicast
packets.
