Editing system information
About this task
You can edit system information, such as the contact person, the name of the device, and the
location to identify the equipment.
Procedure
1. In the Device Physical View tab, select the Device.
2. In the navigation tree, open the following folders: Configuration > Edit.
3. Click Chassis.
4. Click the System tab.
5. Type the contact information in the sysContact field.
6. Type the system name in the sysName field.
7. Type the location information in the sysLocation field.
8. Click Apply.
System field descriptions
Use the data in the following table to use the System tab.
Name
Description
sysDescr Shows the system assigned name and the software
version.
sysUpTime Shows the elapsed time since the system last
started.
sysContact Configures the contact information (in this case, an
email address) for the Avaya support group.
sysName Configures the name of this device.
sysLocation Configures the physical location of this device.
VirtualIpv6Addr Specifies the virtual IPv6 address.
VirtualIpv6PrefixLength Specifies the length of the virtual IPv6 address prefix
(in bits).
DnsDomainName Configures the default domain for querying the DNS
server.
LastChange Displays the time since the last configuration
change.
LastVlanChange Displays the time since the last VLAN change.
LastStatisticsReset Displays the time since the statistics counters were
last reset.
