Enabling jumbo frames
About this task
Enable jumbo frames to increase the size of Ethernet frames the chassis supports.
Procedure
1. Enter Global Configuration mode:
enable
configure terminal
2. Enable jumbo frames:
sys mtu <1950|1522|9600>
Example
Switch:1> enable
Switch:1# configure terminal
Enable jumbo frames to 9600 bytes:
Switch:1#(config)# sys mtu 9600
Variable definitions
Use the data in the following table to use the sys mtu command.

Variable Value
1950|9600 Configures the frame size support for the data path.
<1950|9600> is the Ethernet frame size. Possible
sizes are 1522, 1950 (default), or 9600 bytes. A
configuration of either 1950 or 9600 bytes activates
jumbo frame support.
