Variable Value
1–10 Specifies the file ID to transfer.
address {A.B.C.D} Specifies the IP address of the host to which to transfer the log file.
The remote host must be reachable or the configuration fails.
filename WORD<0-255> Specifies the name of the file on the remote host. If you do not
configure a name, the current log file name is the default.
Configuring system logging to external storage
Before you begin
You must log on to the Global Configuration mode in ACLI.
About this task
System logs are a valuable diagnostic tool.
You can change log file parameters at anytime without restarting the system. Changes made to
these parameters take effect immediately.
Procedure
Configure the logfile parameters:
boot config logfile <64-500> <500-16384> <10-90>
Example
VSP-4850GTS-PWR+:1(config)#boot config logfile 64 600 10

choice Specifies runtime and configuration file choices.
flags Commands to enable the boot flags
flags logging Enables or disables logging to a file on external flash. The
log file is named using the format log.xxxxxxxx.sss. The first
six characters after the prefix of the file name log contain
the last three bytes of the chassis base MAC address. The
